Sam has a broad knowledge of aquaculture and marine biology from seven years of study: an undergraduate degree in Marine Biology from Plymouth University and an MSc in Sustainable Aquaculture from the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling. With a PhD from University of Stirling in fish nutrition, Sam joined SAIC initially as a Project Support Officer and is now Funding Manger. Sam engages with industry, academia and stakeholders to develop and maintain SAIC’s project portfolio, all with the aim to drive and share innovation for the benefit of Scottish aquaculture. His interests span sea lice management, production technology, and sources of external funding.
