Having people with the right skills in the right places is key to the continued success of Scottish aquaculture.
We help match candidates to aquaculture businesses or academic courses through a range of different paths. Our summer internship programme, run in partnership with Skills Development Scotland and DYW, aims to encourage new generations into the sector by giving undergraduates an insight into the range of career opportunities available.
Our SAIC Scholars initiative, meanwhile, offers funded places and more to those interested in studying for an MSc in an aquaculture-related subject.
The Junior Executive Development Programme offers a management and leadership framework for rising stars within the industry.
Our Aquaculture Innovation and Industry Engagement Programme brings together individuals from industry and academia on a three month training programme providing them with the knowledge and skills to solve challenges of 21st century aquaculture.
In 2018, we part funded four PhD Scholarships advancing research within the sector. Research areas are diverse, examining shellfish farming, sea lice, modelling, salmon immunology and disease monitoring.
If you are an industry or individual who would like to take part in any of these programmes or offer a placement or project idea please get in touch.
