Anticipated Benefits

The development and application of a F. psychrophilum immersion challenge model in Atlantic salmon to enable assessment of susceptibility of families to disease so that markers of resistance can be determined. Determination of RTFS resistant rainbow trout susceptibility to other economically significant diseases, such as Proliferative Kidney Disease (PKD) and Red Mark Syndrome (RMS) using tests already developed at IoA.
